Cooking made easy

At Philips, I served as the Lead UX Designer for NutriU, the digital ecosystem that powers smart kitchen appliances. My focus was on creating seamless, intuitive cooking experiences that bridge the gap between hardware, software, and real-world kitchen behavior.

A major part of my work centered around automated cooking programs—intelligent, step-by-step cooking flows that help users prepare meals effortlessly and consistently, powered by smart appliance integrations.

The Challenge
NutriU needed to support a new generation of smart appliances capable of automating complex cooking tasks. Users were excited by the promise, but struggled with:

unclear cooking steps
mismatched expectations between the app and appliance
cognitive overload when following multi-stage recipes
lack of trust in automation (“Will this really work?”)
The goal was to create confidence, clarity, and delight—turning smart automation into an accessible daily experience.
